Anyone who has grown or is growing up as a musician in Wellington, the lack of youth performance spaces is not news. Apart from the Smokefree Rock Quest once a year and the occasional Zeal gig, my high school band had precisely zero public places to perform and develop as musicians before we turned 18.
This glaring gap in Wellington music is the underlying motivator behind Scene Shows. It will be an opportunity for anyone of any background to play in a place that is safe and pro-independence.
